Hi, I'm Nick!

I'm an amateur photographer local to Huntsville, AL passionate about capturing the beauty of the world we live in. I specialize in botanical subjects, and am building my landscape photography skills in parallel with the deep fulfillment I find in exploring new corners of planet Earth.

I was first introduced to photography through my grandfather, David Autote. His preferred subjects were intricate, close-up shots of flowers, and the windswept lighthouses and sailboats lining the coasts of his native New England. As my siblings and I grew up, one particular piece of his was always hanging at either my grandparents' or my parents' house: a massive print looking deep into a beautiful yellow flower, set in a deep brown wooden frame.

One year as a teenager I received an old Canon AE-1 for Christmas, and this was when I began to explore this art in earnest. I taught myself optical and compositional principles through a variety of subjects, figuring out what worked and what didn't. But after my Grandpa passed in 2020, I found myself taking more and more photos of flowers in the same style he had preferred. Even today, although I've branched into a variety of genres and camera types, whenever I'm letting the beauty of the natural world shine through my lens, it feels like he's still there with me.

In David Autote's memory, 10% of each sale of prints, whether in-person or by order, will be donated to the Glioblastoma Research Organization.
